A community conversation stimulates discussion about services and supports older Minnesotans and caregivers will need by 2030. Community conversations are interactive discussions planned between September through December 2018 with Minnesotans to asses the current landscape and prioritize proposals to support all Minnesotans age well.

A key component of the community conversations throughout the state and overall stakeholder engagement process, led to the development of the State Plan on Aging 2019-2022.

Community Conversations

After a community conversation a facilitator or designee will report the outcomes of the discussion. Each community conversation can last between 60 to 90 minutes and works well with a bout 25 or less people. The outcomes of each community conversation will be assembled and shared in a report.

Below are two sets of links. The first set includes a facilitator guide and a reporting form. The facilitator guide provides a framework on how organizations can host a community conversation. The second link is to a form that allows a facilitator to report the discussion about their community conversation. The second set of links include a facilitator guide for resident councils and a corresponding reporting form. The facilitator guide provides a framework for how community conversations were hosted with resident councils. The second link is a form that allows a facilitator to report the discussion about their resident council community conversation.
