The Kostecky family

Molly and Mike Kostecky rely on Medical Assistance to care for their son Luke, who has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

“I am the mother of a 25-year old adult son, diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Minnesota Medicaid and its programs have been essential in the quality of our son's life. Medicaid allows us to care for our adult son at home where he is most comfortable and, undoubtedly, receives the best care possible. Without Medicaid, our son may have to be cared for in a facility, which would cost a lot more, limit his happiness and comfort, and would most likely, put his mortality at risk. “
