Who needs long-term care?

You may need long-term care at any point in your life.

You may need long-term care if you:

  • Are seriously injured or have a temporary or permanent disability
  • Become weak or frail as a result of old age
  • Develop a cognitive impairment that causes memory loss of confusion
  • Have a chronic condition that limits your daily activities.

Fact:

70% of those over age 65 will need long-term care at some point in their lives

40% of all long-term care is provided to persons under age 65
