Am I eligible to have my substance use disorder treatment paid by the Behavioral Health Fund?

  • You are NOT eligible if you:
  1. Have insurance that pays for 100% of the cost of substance use disorder treatment,
  2. Have active Minnesota Medical Assistance, OR
  3. Have a household income that exceeds the limits of the program

  • After determining your household size and household income, decide what applicant category you (the applicant) are in:
  1. Parent, step-parent, or relative-caretaker of a child under the age of 19
  2. Pregnant person or person who has been pregnant during the last 12 months
  3. Person aged 2 to 18 years of age
  4. Person aged 19 or 20 years of age
  5. Aged 21 or older without children (under the age of 19) in household

Locate your applicant category and your household size in the chart below.  If your household income is less than the amount shown, your household income does not exceed the limits of the program (and you may be eligible to have the Behavioral Health Fund pay for your substance use disorder treatment).
