Building EIDBI provider capacity

Across Minnesota and the nation, communities are experiencing a shortage of qualified healthcare providers. The provider shortage particularly affects rural areas.

Health professional shortage areas (HPSAs) are geographic regions, populations and facilities with too few mental health providers and services as identified by the Minnesota Department of Health. MDH has identified several counties in Minnesota as HPSAs. For a list of those areas, see the Health Department’s shortage designation webpage.
