Minnesota Revalidate 2026
The federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is threatening to withhold up to $2 billion from Minnesota's Medicaid program. This would have a devastating impact on the state budget and jeopardize care for the 1.3 million Minnesotans who rely on Medicaid.
Minnesota Revalidate 2026 is an urgent statewide Medicaid provider revalidation effort designed to prevent this outcome. Providers who deliver services that were designated as high risk in Governor Walz’s Oct. 29, 2025, announcement ordering a third-party audit of Medicaid billing must successfully complete a revalidation by May 31, 2026.
Important: The following information does not represent the entire Minnesota Health Care Programs (MHCP) policy, enrollment or billing guidance for MHCP-enrolled providers. Providers should refer to the online MHCP Provider Manual as the primary information source for MHCP coverage policies, rates and billing procedures. We update the MHCP Provider Manual on an ongoing basis.
