Background information

CAPITAL® AND CODEINE ORAL SUSPENSION (Acetaminophen and codeine phosphate oral suspension) is indicated for the relief of mild to moderate pain. CAPITAL® AND CODEINE ORAL SUSPENSION is at a significant price premium relative to its therapeutic alternatives such as generic Tylenol #3 Elixir and acetaminophen and codeine oral solution. In patients where CAPITAL® AND CODEINE ORAL SUSPENSION is indicated, it is recommended to use generic acetaminophen and codeine oral solution. In situations where an alcohol free-suspension is required, exceptions may be granted if deemed clinically appropriate.
