Report maltreatment

Vulnerable adults: If you know or suspect that a vulnerable adult is in immediate danger, call 911. Additionally, all reports of abuse, neglect, or exploitation of a vulnerable adult should be called into the Minnesota Adult Abuse Reporting Center (MAARC) at 844-880-1574, which is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Additional information about reporting maltreatment of vulnerable adults

Children: If a child is in immediate danger, call 911. If the child is not in immediate danger, use the contact information below to report suspected maltreatment, abuse, or neglect.

  • Child care centers (licensed or certified): Call the DCYF Intake Unit at 651-539-8222.
  • Family child care: Call the child protection agency in the county or Tribal Nation where the child lives.
  • Child foster care: Call the child protection agency in the county or Tribal Nation where the child lives.
  • DHS-licensed facilities: Call the DHS Intake Unit at 651-431-6600.
