Rick Moldenhauer receives award for outstanding contributions to opioid treatment

DHS employee Rick Moldenhauer, who works in the department's Community Supports Administration, was recently named as a recipient of the 2016 Nyswander/Dole Award from the American Association for the Treatment of Opioid Dependence (AATOD). The national award recognizes outstanding contributions to opioid treatment by honoring individuals selected by their peers for extraordinary service in the opioid treatment community. Moldenhauer will receive the award at the AATOD National Conference in Baltimore, Md. in the fall.

According to the AATOD, “award recipients have devoted themselves to improving the lives of patients in our treatment system.” Dr. Vincent Dole and Dr. Marie Nyswander were the first recipients of this award in 1993.

Moldenhauer has worked at DHS since 2001.
