Drug - Emsam (transdermal selegiline) Delivering 6 mg in 24 hours, 9 mg in 24 hours, or 12 mg in 24 hours

Therapeutic area - Depression

Criteria

  • Emsam is being used for Major Depressive Disorder AND
  • Patient has failed on at least three other antidepressants due to ineffectiveness or intolerance AND
  • Patient will not concurrently be taking an SSRI, SNRI, tricyclic antidepressant (TCA), Wellbutrin (bupropion), Buspar (buspirone), meperidine, other MAO I’s, or carbamazepine. These drugs are contraindicated for use with Emsam
