Safe Harbor

Safe Harbor can help

Minnesota recognizes that young people who are being sexually exploited or sex trafficked need understanding, support, services and safety. The Safe Harbor law protects minors from being criminalized for trading sex and provides services to exploited and at-risk youth up through age 24. Through statewide services and shelter, there is support for youth who are survivors of sexual exploitation and their families.

If you or someone you know is being sexually exploited, help is available. Contact one of the agencies listed with the Minnesota Department of Health to learn more about your options. Or call the Day One Hotline at 1-866-223-1111. If you know of a child who is being sexually exploited or sex trafficked, contact your county child protection agency for help.
