Child support: Reports, work groups

Federal and state law require the Minnesota Department of Human Services to review the state child support guidelines and produce a report of the results every four years.

The reports provide data on state and county information related to the federal performance measures, collections and caseloads, ranking, comparisons, and other useful information.

The Minnesota Legislature requires the Minnesota Department of Human Services to evaluate all child support programs and to report a variety of measures to the Legislature every two years.

• 2021 Evaluation of Minnesota Child Support Division Mechanisms and Programs

Established by the 2016 Legislature, the Child Support Task Force is responsible for making recommendations to the department on maintaining and improving child support guidelines and objectively discussing complex economic data and policy issues. Task force members will include parents, legislators, court and child support professionals, and staff from organizations that work with families paying and receiving child support.
